Crook is undoubtedly one of the best-known and best-loved female Bull Sharks frequenting the Reserve.  In recognition of her captivating personailty, and her imposing physical attributes, Crook is a Shark Icon.

  • FAQ

    Crook derives her name from her crooked smile.  The corners of her mouth are twisted out of shape, likely caused by fishing hooks.

    Crook was first recorded on SRMR in June of 2003. She is approximately 25-30 years old, and large at ~ 3m in length.

  • Behavior

    Crook belongs to a tribe of specialized hand feeding Bull Sharks, however on rare occasions can be seen competing in the aerial feed.  

    Crook is very comfortable around divers, highly inquisitive and a trickster who appears to enjoy her interactions with staff.
