JJ is an energentic male Bull Shark frequenting Shark Reef Marine Reserve, who always leaves a lasting impression. His eccentric character and unique look make JJ very special and a Shark Star.
FAQ
JJ stands for Jaws Junior in memory of our beloved, shark 'Jaws' with whom he shares a permanently lopsided and agape left side of his mouth. JJ has a broken jaw, the result of being hooked.
JJ first visited SRMR in February 2011, we estimate his age at 10-15 years and he is 1.5 m in length.
Behavior
JJ always appears ravenous and never ceases to make a commotion when he visits, seemingly begging for handouts.
JJ is very comfortable around divers and will feed both aerially and from the substrate.
