Naughtylus
Both highkly inquisitive and assertive, Naughtylus is one of the most impressive and intimidating female Bull Sharks frequenting the Shark Reef Marine Reserve. Her charistmatic nature makes Naughtylus a Shark Icon.
FAQ
Naughtylus' diagnostic features are her impressive size, the slightly crooked right hand corner of her mouth and the slightly notched posterior edge of the tip of her first dorsal fin.
She has been visiting SRMR since September 2009 and is one of our very largest and also most dominant sharks. At distinctly over 3m in length and quite bulky, she could be 25-30 years old.
Behavior
Naughtylus likes to have a good look at the divers and will often approach closely.
Although she will sometimes feed aerially and pick up bait from the substrate, she is essentially a specialized hand feeder.
